The Sydney Fringe Festival from the 1st - 30th September will feature more than 300 production across 42 of their partner venues located in inner Sydney. The festival showcases the amazing work from local independent artists, art makers and performers, this year Kensington Street is one of the major sponsors and will host the first ever Festival Village with the Chippendale precinct and the Festival's Launch event.
The Festival Village along Kensington Street precinct will be transformed for the month with 2 special venues - The Hilarium and The Cottage. The Hilarium will showcase headline international comedy acts and Sydney's up-and-coming comedians - with the festival program curated by Dean Haglund. The Cottage, will be transformed each night with an immersive theatre, installations, cabaret and burlesque!
The Fringe Ignite Launch Party is on Saturday 2nd September, what a better way to celebrate than with a street party presenting a series of live music acts and performances (there will be over 20 artists across nine stages) from 2pm until 8pm. Sydney-based vocalist NGAIIRE is curating the festival and has brought together talented performers. It's a free event so come down and celebrate the opening!
