HotHouse Waterways Exhibition HotHouse Waterways Exhibition

HotHouse the public engagement program of Sydney's Total Environment organises events and exhibitions with a focus on creative solutions to the challenges of sustainability. From 23rd March to 30th April, HotHouse is curating its first public exhibition called WATERWAYS to increase awareness of World Water Day (22nd March). The exhibition will run in a pop-up space for five weeks in Central Park's retail centre – dubbed the Best Tall Building in the World – and with 120m green walls sustained totally from recycled water, there is no better location.

Frasers Property and Sekisui House are proud supporters of the HotHouse WATERWAYS exhibition and are encouraging your involvement in meeting the goal of collecting 1,000 water samples.

Contribute to a crowd-sourced exhibition

WATERWAYS will be a snapshot collection of how Sydney-siders relate to water on a personal level.

You can get involved in this community project by contributing a small sample of water from a place in Sydney that holds meaning for you – this could be from a kitchen tap, local river, favourite beach or rainwater tank. The exhibition is more than just 1,000 crowd-sourced water samples. HotHouse are teaming up with artists and scientists from UTS to explore a range of creative and interactive installations, all geared towards engaging the public on urban water sustainability.

Anybody from your family, friends and organisations can get involved in this exciting initiative.

How to get involved…

1. Collect water: Use a small clear glass jar or bottle with no labels.

2. Make an online submission: Visit this website and fill in your details, type of water, where its from and why it’s meaningful to you.

3. Drop-off your water: Write your name and email on a bit of scrap paper and tape this onto your jar so we can identify you! Then drop off your sample to either the Central Park Sales Centre on Central Park Avenue or retail Centre Management on level 3 by Monday 2nd March.

This exhibition will be held at Central Park's The Living Mall from 23rd March to 30th April 2015.
More information on the WATERWAYS exhibition can be found on the HotHouse website.
