Nicky Ginsberg - NG Studio and Mission Cafe
Art dealer at NG Art, 3 Little Queen Street, Chippendale

When art dealer Nicky Ginsberg and restaurateur Piera Potter stumbled across an old Victorian Gothic revival hall in Chippendale dating back to 1886, they knew it was the perfect place in which to open their art gallery and restaurant.

Ginsberg and Potter researched the neighbourhood for six months before chancing upon a two-storey building on the recommendation of a client and deciding it was the perfect location for their businesses.

Today, Ginsberg operates NG Art gallery on the second floor of the building, which showcases contemporary Australian art, while downstairs Potter has created a delectable menu at Mission Restaurant & Bar.

NG Art's opening night attracted 500 people, proving there was a hunger for commercial art in Chippendale. Its artist workshops and dinners are also sell-outs, as is the chicken and mushroom pie served downstairs at Mission Restaurant & Bar.

BEAMS Arts Festival, 21 September 2013
Frasers Property and Sekisui House are proud to sponsor the Chippendale BEAMS Arts Festival, which lit up the streets of Chippendale on Saturday 21 September 2013 for the second year running.

We walked into the building and fell in love with it,” says Ginsberg. “Within minutes we said, 'This is it', and within four days we owned our business. There are lots of creative businesses in this particular part of Chippendale – advertising agencies, architects, and film production companies. The area felt very quiet when we moved in, but we had a gut feeling it would work.
