Frasers Property is a proud sponsor of Underbelly Arts 2010 – a series of public performance labs and a day/night street Festival – all occurring in and around Kensington Street, within the Central Park site.
Since 8 July, 100 theatre-makers, film-makers, musicians, installation artists, puppeteers, sound artists, publishers and aerialists have moved into Kensington Street to develop new work. The public can watch the works evolve in public labs, then celebrate the finished works at the Festival on Saturday 17 July, from 2pm to 10pm. Kensington Street will be closed from 12 noon on Saturday 17th for this event, which should see Sydney’s art and performance-loving community and bemused locals wandering the street to the sound of live music, live radio, installations and performances large and small.
Underbelly's public labs provide an opportunity for the public to watch the works evolve and - in some cases - take a hands-on approach. Arunas Klupsas documented Saturday 11 July for Frasers, as part of an ongoing photo essay. View Arunas' images from Saturday's shoot here.
This is the latest in a series of temporary creative activations of the Central Park site, as Frasers grasps the opportunity to turn otherwise vacant spaces into a thriving – and often surprising – creative hub.
