    CONSTRUCTION UPDATES JANUARY 2012

    ONE CENTRAL PARK

    • Concrete pouring on a large scale is continuing at One Central Park. On One Central Park East, floors have been poured to level 5 slab and the lift core poured to level 11. On One Central Park West, floors have been poured to level 1 with the lift core at level 3.
    • Fabrication of the green wall system, which will be integrated across 1000m2 of the facade, is well underway off-site.
    • Around 300 construction staff are currently on site each day.

    PARK LANE

    • Construction of the basement parking levels is now underway by Watpac. Under 1, 3 and 5 Park Lane, basement slabs are up to B2. At 8 Park Lane the lift core has reached ground level and the basement slabs are also up to B2.

    CHIPPENDALE GREEN and INFRASTRUCTURE

    • Work on the new intersection on Broadway at Balfour Street is now underway. Broadway will be widened to accommodate a new turning lane from Broadway into Balfour Street, with the footpath narrowed on the northern side of Broadway. Disruption to traffic and pedestrians is generally scheduled during the evening, and will continue for 4-5 months under close supervision by the NSW Transport department. For more, click here.
    • Stage 1 & 2 infrastructure works, including works to surrounding roads and construction of the road which loops around Chippendale Green, are underway by Christies Civil.
    • Excavation of the 'box' for the central thermal plant is now underway. This is the first of several stages of work to delivery a clean energy plant within Central Park.
    • Two major advanced trees have been planted in Chippendale Green - a great moment in the progression of this park, which is likely to complete in April. The complexities of delivering this park are many, due to the extensive underground infrastructure and the many authorities and service providers with whom we need to liaise.
    • Fabrications and testing of 'Halo' - a gloriously gigantic kinetic artwork by Jennifer Turpin and Michaelie Crawford, to be installed in Chippendale Green - continues, ahead of a likely April installation.

    KENSINGTON LANE

    • Frasers is working with Tonkin Zulhaika Greer to refine the masterplan and undertake design development for the adaptive re-use of heritage buildings in this street, and to design new buildings. Frasers anticipates submitting PAs to the Department of Planning in early 2012 for the majority of the future Kensington Lane precinct.
