Central Park

Drop in to FraserStudios on Saturday 19 March from 2pm to 5pm for one of our regular Open Studio days. FraserStudios is located at 10-14 Kensington Street, Chippendale, within the Central Park development site.

We throw the roller doors open at FraserStudios from time to time to showcase the work of FraserStudios Visual Arts Residency artists and welcome the public in to wander through the studio spaces and meet the current crop of artists enjoying free studio space.

On exhibition this Sunday will be Welcome, showcasing the four honours graduates selected for the Queen Street Studio Residency Award. In 2009 Pete Volich, Visual Arts Coordinator for FraserStudio, in consultation with Honours Convenors from National Art School and the Sydney College of the Arts, selected four artists: Madeleine Cruise, Daniel Hollier, Anna John, and Jaqueline Larcombe.

This award allowed for four graduates who had achieved an outstanding body of work for their honours year to be able to continue their practice with-in a studio environment the following year of their graduation. All four artists used the residency period to its absolute full potential. All have gone onto exhibit, further their study, or gain follow up residencies overseas.

Alongside the Welcome exhibition FraserStudios will open up the artists studios upstairs so the public can have a rare glimpse into their studios. The current Residency Artists are: Mitch Cairns, Jo Daniel, Todd Fuller, Sebastian Goldspink, Jonathon James, Cara Macleod, Jai McKenzie, Nerine Martini, Johannes Muljana, JD Reforma, Kyla Ring, Todd Robinson, Jelena Telecki, Phil Williams, and Emma Wise

A sausage sizzle and drinks will be available for a modest donation from 2pm, together with relaxed Sunday afternoon music.

FraserStudios Open Studio day is part of this year's Art Month Sydney.

FraserStudios is an initiative of Frasers Property to make creative use of otherwise vacant buildings within the Central Park development site. It is managed and produced by the fabulous creative facilitators from Queen Street Studio: www.queenstreetstudio.com
