Watpac are now well-established at One Central Park and construction is well underway. Over 150 foundations have to be poured beneath One Central Park, to suppirt each column, wall, lift core and underground infrastructure. Work began on these foundations in January and is scheduled to continue until early March.
There will be two cranes on-site, with the first crane - adjoining the East tower - to be installed by mid-February, and the second crane to follow in early March.
Hoardings along Broadway will be extended in late February to provide safe passage for pedestrians as construction picks up pace.
MAIN PARK AND INFRASTRUCTURE
Work on the main park will proceed in late February/early March subject to finalisation of the landscaping design and other approvals with City of Sydney. The main park construction and landscaping will take approximately 5 months, so we're now anticipating completion of the park in late July.
Work on the realignment of O'Connor Street, and new traffic signals at Abercrombie Street and Regent Street are also subject to final resolution of approvals with City of Sydney.
OTHER WORKS
One Central Park and the nearby future Richard Johnson residential buildings share a common basement, so excavation of both sites has been undertaken concurrently. While excavation of One Central Park's lowest levels has completed, excavation of the Richard Johnson building's basements continues.
Trucks removing materials from the excavation site, currently accessing the site from Regent Street, will begin accessing the site from Abercrombie Street by the end of February.
Underground plumbing works to Abercrombie Street are now completed, with road re-surfacing to be completed by the end of February. This will bring the current night works on Abercrombie Street to a welcome end.
