Bulk excavation beneath One Central Park is now complete, and work continues on the basement beneath the future Richard Johnson-designed buildings adjoining the main park.
Watpac has been appointed to build One Central Park. This $353 million contract is the largest residential construction contract signed in Sydney for many years, and is a major milestone in the development of Central Park. Watpac has established their site sheds and will begin work on footings and the first tower crane in January. In February we expect to see a new crane on Sydney's skyline.
Work on the main park will proceed in January subject to finalisation of the landscaping design with City of Sydney. Work on the realignment of O'Connor Street, and new traffic signals at Abercrombie Street and Regent Street, is scheduled to begin in the new year.
