Central Park launches 'On Exhibition' - 197

NEWS CENTRAL PARK LAUNCHES 'ON EXHIBITION'

Frasers’ interest in creative spaces continues, as we proudly announce a new collaboration with NG Art Gallery. From early October NG’s Nicky Ginsberg – a passionate advocate for the Chippendale arts community - will curate an ever-changing exhibition of works by local artists, within the Central Park Display Pavilion.

We call it 'On Exhibition', and we're starting with an exhibition of sculptural and wall-hung works by Mai Nguyen-Long: ‘True Blue Doggie Morph’. Mai was one of the first visual arts residents at FraserStudios, so it’s great to have her back at Central Park.

“The playful atmosphere created by outsized toys on wheels, building blocks and pictures is soon dispelled as one is drawn into the surreal blue-blackness of Mai Nguyen-Long’s passionate engagement with life’s most important issues”, writes Nicky. “Long has created a new world for her mythic mongrels. The meticulously created works of this installation carry multiple layers of meaning, reflecting personal aspects of the artist’s past and present, as well as delving into universal concerns of war and identity.”

For more on Mai, visit www.ngart.com.au or drop in to the Central Park Display Pavilion, open 10am to 6pm every day, at 80 Broadway, Chippendale. While you're in the neighbourhood, pop in to NG Art Gallery at 3 Little Queen Street, Chippendale.
