Over the past 40 years, Jean Nouvel has won almost every prize it’s possible to win, including the Praemium Imperiale in Tokyo and the Pritzker Prize, which is the highest accolade of all within the world of architecture.
His most famous buildings include the French Embassy in Berlin and the Arab World Institute in France, or the eccentric Quai Branly Museum in Paris, which represents Jean Nouvel’s first collaboration with French artist Patrick Blanc.
As the founder of Ateliers Jean Nouvel – one of the largest architectural firms in France – Jean Nouvel is famous for creating architecture that responds to its local environment. He has been praised for “greatly expanding the vocabulary of contemporary architecture” in his work, and is considered one of the world’s true architectural masters.
Ateliers Jean Nouvel has designed two striking residential towers at Central Park called ‘One Central Park’, which houses 563 luxury apartments. The building’s façade will be covered in plants and vines in a breathtaking dialogue of art and architecture, created in collaboration with French botanical artist Patrick Blanc.
One Central Park is Atelier Jean Nouvel’s first architectural masterpiece in Australia, which will be ready to occupy in 2013.
